Christmas is fast approaching here at Glanville Geospatial. We’ve been busy starting the festivities early this year, visiting the oldest church in London for some GPR void detection mapping!
When we were first contacted it was clear church members were concerned about setting up heavy speakers and moving pianos around this almost 900-year-old building. Combine this with such a busy festive period for the church and it was clear the work needed to be done fast.
A two-woman team was sent down to complete the work in a day, ensuring disruption was kept to a minimum.
Using ground penetrating radar equipment, we collected highly detailed 3D scans and have found and mapped the potentially dangerous voids.
Scan data was collected using a 1600MHz antenna as well as a dual frequency antenna (300MHz and 800MHz) to ensure no depths were left unchecked.
Along with this we collected some incredible FARO scan data, allowing us to provide a topographic drawing, whereby results from the GPR survey could be presented.
